Zander is 8 Months Old

Another month has come and gone. Zander is seriously the sweetest baby. He is a little cuddler and is a happy little dude. He is army crawling around and very vocal when we take something away from him that he wants. An example of this is when I pull paper out of his mouth. He lets me know he was enjoying it and didn't want to give it up. This kid LOVES paper, newspaper, tissue, toilet paper, mail, catalogs, magazines, shopping lists, receipts, anything he can eat. He is quick too. He knows to get it wet with slobber and then bite of a piece by pulling it hard while chopped down on a corner. He gets so upset when I take it away.
Anyway here he is today.

The boys wanted me to take a picture of them while I had the camera out. It turned out cuter than I thought and it shows how big Zander is getting.

These next two pictures are my favorite. For months now Zander has been doing these hilarious and cheesy smiles. We have been trying to get a picture of them and as soon as the camera comes out he gets distracted. It has been a while since he has given us his gummy smile and I thought he may have grown out of it but this last week or so he has been doing it a lot. Jeff caught these. Don't those just make you smile? It sure makes us smile!

I had to add this one too. He is looking like a little man now and not so much like a baby.

What I found this morning

I could hear the boys playing in their room this morning and since Zander wasn't fussing, I let them play. It was nice to be able to stay in bed an extra 20 minutes. When I finally went in to get Zander this is how I found the boys.

Also a few days ago I put Zander in his bouncer while I took a quick shower. He loves this thing and since he is scooting around I wanted to keep him contained. I guess he was more tired that I thought because when I got out of the shower the poor kid was passed out.

Zackery's Party

We celebrated Zackery's Birthday on Saturday with family and friends. I was worried the weather wouldn't be the greatest, but it turned out to be a pretty nice day. Zackery was so excited that we were singing to him, yet again.

He got some fun gifts.

I had to add these pictures of him on his bike. He loves riding around our complex and sportin' the shades.

Also I had to add this so I don't forget it. About a week ago, Zackery came and sat right next to me and put his arm around me and said, "Mommy, you're my friend." It was so sweet.

Zackery is 4!

I meant to post this yesterday, oh well.
Four years and two days ago, I was very pregnant and ready to have my first baby. I decided I wanted him to come by his due date and no later so before I went to bed that night I took Castor oil. I didn't sleep much that night and had many trips to the bathroom. My contractions started about 3 am. Around 5:30 am my water broke, 10 minutes later another gush of fluid escaped me. Jeff and I enjoyed our last breakfast before becoming parents and then we headed to the hospital.
My contractions were not regular so on the Petocin I went. The day was quite long. I had progressed to 5 cm and pretty much stayed there. The nurse had upped my Petocin 3 times and still no more progression, in fact Zackery had decided to go back up a little.

So the talk of a C-section began. It was a little hard for me to take that I had to have a C-section but it looked like I didn't really have another option. So at 8:29 pm Zackery made his arrival into this world. He was 8 lb 13 oz and 21 inches long.

He has the IV and nose feeder because he started throwing up green mucus and the nurses thought his stomach might not be attached right (sometimes it turns itself over), anyway, after some tests they thankfully found nothing wrong.

Yesterday for his Birthday, I made him chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast and we sang to him (as per his request).
He also helped me make him a green cake. Zane had a few jealousy issues, but we made it through the day. We are having his party this weekend so I will have to figure out something for Zane.
Here is Zackery showing you how old he is now.

We did a mini party at my parents house. Zackery loves being sung to, so here he is trying to hold in all that excitement.

He is trying to blow out the candles, not working too well.

In frustration he takes a break, meanwhile Zane has started blowing the candles out.

Zackery is such a nut. He didn't want to eat his cake with a fork, he preferred to go for it using nothing but his mouth.

The funny thing is on his 1st Birthday he refused to use his hands too. It was like he didn't want to get them all messy so he ate all his cake using just his mouth.

We finally convinced him a fork was the better way to go.

Zackery is getting to be such a big boy. He loves doing things by himself (even if he has to ask me to help him half way through). He makes me laugh a lot. He is so talkative and expressive. He is quite the negotiator. He will ask for a cookie and I tell him no and then he says "Just one Mommy, just one." And as Jeff says, he has the memory of an elephant. If we mention something to him he won't let us forget.
We gave him a bike and that is all he wants to do is ride his bike. It is so fun to watch him learn new things. I can't believe how fast he is growing up.
