Yesterday was a really long day and I was too tired last night to post this. The day started at 5 A.M. when Jeff got up to get ready to take Zane to Children's Hospital. After dropping off Zackery at my mom's house I drove down there at 6:30 A.M. Zane went into surgery a little after 7:30 A.M. Zane happily walked back with the nurse with the promise of a Popsicle after a short nap. Zane had his tonsils and Adenoids removed. The surgery itself was pretty quick, less than a half an hour. The doctor told us one of his adenoids was the size of a tonsil, which is pretty large. About an hour after seeing the doctor they called Jeff and I back to see Zane. He was so out of it.

Sorry for the poor quality of these pictures, they were taken by Jeff's BlackBerry.

Zane didn't like having his hand all taped up to keep the IV in.

Here are the before pictures of his tonsils.

I am amazed at how resilient children are. We were able to leave the hospital about 1:30 P.M. Zane was still pretty out of it but I was more than ready to go home, I had Zander with me the whole time. He is a good baby but I was more than ready to take him and Zane home and have lunch. Zane ate a banana and sherbet as soon as we got to my mom's house and then for dinner had chicken nuggets, marshmallows, and a chocolate milk. I was surprised at how much he was eating and well he was doing on the day of surgery. I am letting him eat whatever he wants for the first couple of days which is driving Zackery crazy because he wants everything Zane gets, he even asks for surgery to be able to eat what Zane is eating.
Also as I sat there in the recovery area and saw all these little kids being wheeled out of surgery my eyes were opened a little seeing babies come out of surgery. There were quite a few under 9 months old having surgery. I am so grateful to have beautiful healthy children, it is truly a blessing.
