Bedtime Battle

I am so frustrated with the boys lately. They go to bed so nicely for me and the second I close the door behind me they jump out of bed and play with each other for the next hour or so as I am repeatedly going back into their room and trying to get them to bed. Meanwhile I am trying to nurse Zander and get him to sleep. It would be so much easier if Jeff was home during bedtime to help me out, only a few more months and he will go back to working days.
Well once they finally fell asleep I checked on them and this is what I found.

Why do I even have two beds in there?

I checked on them again at nap time and realized I have no idea how often they share a bed.

6 Months & Sick

Zander is 6 months old today. These months are flying by now. He is also still sick. I swear this kid has been sick for the last two months! He has been sick most of his life, how sad is that? He was really cranky on Saturday night and woke up with a temperature of 102.7 early Sunday morning. So Jeff and I haven't got much sleep these last few days. His temp is down to 99 and he has crusty little red eyes and a sad little cough. So his schedule has been put on a hold until he feels better, which means he is still in our room and I can't wait for him to be in his crib.
He loves to eat and, yes, he even likes green beans now. He just gags every time I feed him something new, then he likes it.

Look at this poor little sickie.

We have also been having a heat wave here in San Diego. We went to the beach on Saturday, it was really nice, in the 80's. Today on the other hand was not so fun. Having it be close to 100 degrees, in an upstairs apartment, and a little guy with a fever was miserable.

Zackery made some girlfriends at the beach and bugged them for most of the time we were there. They had a bubble wand that Zackery loved.

Easter Fun

We got the boys together on the couch with their matching vests to take a picture and boy was that a challenge. Zackery didn't want to smile (hence the constipation look) and Zander kept sliding himself down. Zane was happy to have his arm around Zander and to be my helper. So needless to say this was the best picture of the bunch.

The boys had so much fun with Easter this year. They could not wait to put eggs in their baskets (they had been reminding me all week that on Sunday they got to go to Grandpa B's house and fill their baskets). Zackery got the idea right away and was at a mad dash to get as many eggs as he could.

Zane on the other hand looked around the yard noticing all the eggs. He was going around at his own pace. The funny thing was he kept chewing on his tongue and pushing his cheek out with it, like it took a lot of concentration to gather those eggs. Everyone kept asking me what was in Zane's mouth and I would tell them it was just his tongue.

The boys were really excited to get their Easter basket from Aunt RaNae. They thought it was the coolest thing ever that it had a big truck in it!

Zander wasn't really too interested in any of the festivities. So he got to snuggle up with Mr. Bunny.

My GQ Baby

Jeff was having some fun taking pictures of Zander a few weeks ago and they look like he was posing. I just had to share them.

This is what Zander thought about it.

And last, Blue Steel.*

*For those of you who have not seen the movie Zoolander, that is where Blue Steel comes from

Green Beans

Zander is getting used to eating now and even grabs for what Jeff and I are eating and wants a taste. Here he is trying out Green Beans. Doesn't he look so thrilled.

Jeff snapped this shot with perfect timing. Not so sure he likes it.

On one of the first days he was eating his rice cereal Zander had me laughing so hard I was crying. He was gagging and making the funniest noises. I am so mean but I had to feed him a few more bites so I could laugh at him some more, he kept opening his mouth for more. He was so funny.

Miramar Lake

A few weeks ago my sister came out to visit with her kids for their spring break. The boys were in heaven! They love playing with their cousins. The downside was we were all sick and got them all sick (sorry Crys). One afternoon we went to Miramar Lake and fed the ducks. It was gorgeous! The lake had gotten pretty low the last time we were there, but this time it was back to its normal level and the water was so clear! As we were feeding the ducks we had a fun time watching all the little black ducks diving down to get the bread that sunk to the bottom. We usually can't see that deep.

These geese didn't come onto the dock until I came on with Zander. I don't know if they thought my little bundle I was carrying was food, but they spotted me coming from the parking lot and heading right for me and then followed me on the dock, honking at me the whole way.
