Zane is Three!

Three years ago today Zane made his entrance into this world (two weeks late!). Jeff and I decided to see if I would go into labor before my scheduled C-section.

I never did and we even pushed the surgery back an additional week! Here I am at the hospital an hour or so before the delivery.
When Zane finally was delivered, he weighed in at a whooping 10 lbs. 9 1/2 oz. and 23 inches long.

He was screaming right after they pulled him out and as soon as he heard my voice he quieted right down.

He was a total barrel chested kid. He is solid.

This is Zane at 1 year!

Today we did not plan a big party for him, we let him do whatever he wanted. The day started with Strawberry waffles with a lot of whipped cream, the only thing he ate was the whipped cream. Once daddy woke up we opened his present. After playing with that for a while we headed to the YMCA for some swimming.

We taught Zane how to show three fingers, but that is still a little hard for him so he found holding two fingers down is a lot easier.

Then we had some cake!

Later grandma and grandpa B and Aunt RaNae came over with some gifts. Zane has always been a little shy, especially when people are singing "Happy Birthday" to him.

Some things about Zane:
Zane is the sweetest boy. He is always willing to share. Zackery usually eats faster than Zane and therefore gets his dessert first. By the time Zane gets his, Zackery's is long gone so Zackery goes to Zane and asks for some of his. Without thinking about it and before he even takes a bite of his own dessert, he offers some to Zackery. This happens all the time. Also he has been my cuddle bug. As soon as Zackery could move around on his own, he was done with me. Zane on the other hand loved to sit on my lap and give me loves, and he still does.
On the flip side, Zane is my most stubborn child. He was the hardest one to get to sleep on his own. He would cry the longest. He knows what he wants and goes for it and if he doesn't get it, he has a fit. This kid has some lungs and determination.
When he was first learning to talk, he would put an S at the end of most words. Ex: "I loves you." I loved this. He is my little dancer. He loves music and when he first started crawling he would rock his head back and forth with each movement forward. Click here to see

I am so happy that Zane is in our family. He makes me laugh all the time. He does the funniest facial expressions and has cute little mannerisms. He is a crack-up.
I also call him my little squishy. He has a little more meat on him than Zackery and he has the softest skin. I love my little squishy!

Happy Birthday Zane! I remember that video of him crawling, it reminded me of the lion king. What a cutie!
